Quality trout fishing in 2 secluded lakes with abundant aquatic life

South Elmham Lakes offer peacefully quiet fly fishing for Rainbow and Brown trout. For autumn 2027 we have just 2 lakes available for fishing due to low water levels. Crabtree lake and Reservoir are restocked and open. We hope to have all lakes open again in New year.

Fishing permits are purchased on our website before you fish.

Set in wildflower meadow with mature oak trees and views over open farmland, our lakes are home to abundant wildlife, and teem with aquatic life.

Our trout can often be seen rising throughout the day. Evenings can be a sight to behold with fish patroling margins along the large beds of water iris and sedges that surround the lakes.

The largest Rainbow caught so far was 12lbs 10oz. Brownies of 4lb to 8lb are regularly caught and released. Our fish are known for their distinctive colours and great fighting stamina.

Sorry, but as a fly fishery for trout we under no circumstance offer coarse fishing on any of our lakes, so please do not ask. We can happily recommend excellent coarse fishing that can be found at several other fisheries within our locality.
